I tried Ina Garten’s Penne Arrabiata recipe and I really liked it! I didn’t think I would be happy with the flavors since I’m so used to adding so many different spices to all my food. But it was absolutely delicious. Give it a try, you won’t be sorry.

INGREDIENTS:
-2/3 cup good olive oil
-1 cup whole peeled garlic cloves
-2 (28-ounce) cans of tomatoes (I used fire roasted and Ina Garten used whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes)
-2 teaspoons whole fennel seeds, chopped or coarsely ground
-1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
-1/3 cup pomegranate juice (she used red wine)
-1 TBSP pink Himalayan salt
-1 tsp ground black pepper
-1/4 cup copped fresh basil leaves, plus extra for garnish
-1 pound dry penne pasta
-Shredded mozzarella for garnish (she used Parmesan cheese)
