Le Taurus Kitchen presents you the simple & tasty CALZONE STUFFED WITH MUSHROOM. It is an Italian oven-baked turnover made with folded pizza dough. A typical calzone is made from salted bread dough, baked in an oven and is stuffed with salami, ham or vegetables, mozzarella cheese, as well as an egg. In fact, you could stuff with some chicken as well. Different regional variations in or on a calzone can often include other ingredients that are normally associated with pizza toppings. The term usually applies to an oven-baked turnover rather than a fried pastry, though calzone. Usually, they are using Marinara sauce instead of tomato sauce. This makes it easier and affordable for everyone.

INGREDIENTS:
For Dough :
All-purpose flour – 2 cups
Yeast – 1 tbsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Salt as required
Warm milk or warm water – 1 cup or as needed
Olive oil – 1 tbsp
For Filling :
Sliced Onion – 1 no
Sliced Mushroom – 1 cup
Sliced Capsicum – 1 no
Tomato ketchup – 1/2 cup
Minced Garlic – 1 tbsp
Salt as required
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Grated cheese – 1 cup
PREPARATION:
Preheat the oven to 200°C(400°F).
Mix Tomato ketchup with minced garlic and set aside.
Mix yeast, sugar with warm water or milk well and keep aside till it foams up.
METHOD:
Take flour in a bowl and mix salt with it.
Then add foam up yeast mix.
Combine well till it forms a soft dough.
Apply oil in it and cover with cling film or cloth. Keep it aside till it rises up.
When it doubles in size, give a kick and knock out the air.
Knead the dough for 3 mins.
Divide the dough as a ball-shaped portion and keep it aside.
Roll one dough into a round shape.
Apply tomato ketchup with garlic generously on the rolled dough.
Add in onions, capsicum, mushroom, sprinkle some salt and pepper powder and place the cheese on top of veggies.
Fold the dough so that it forms a semi-circle shape.
Seal the edges.
Apply some oil on top of the calzone.
Do exactly to all the remaining dough.
Place all the dough’s in a good oil greased baking tray and set it in the preheated oven.
Bake for 35-40 mins till the top become golden in colour.
(According to your oven set the time)
Remove it from the oven and apply some butter on top to give a glassy look.
Cut it half and serve.
