Today I’m eating A FRESELLA CAPRESE (with tomatoes and mozzarella, seasoned with origano, salt and olive oil) and another fresella with avocado and shrimps (seasoned with lemon juice and sesame seeds).

WHAT IS FRESELLA? A Frisella is a large, round piece of dry, baked durum wheat flour, often with a hole in the center. It may be thick or thin, depending on where you are. Since Fresella is dry bread you have to wet it before you eat it: so the Fresella might be soft or crunch, depending on how much you wet it under water. My grandma always tells me that when she was young people used to wet the fresella in the salty sea water (that was surely cleaner 90 years ago :-D) . Now we just use clean potable water and add salt on the fresella after 🙂 (for more information visit
