In Bocca is a series of 20 rare cookbooks published in the 1970’s that are some of the strangest in the world. The recipes are unique and regional, and some are hand written in old Italian dialect. The pages are filled with poetry, paintings, and strange bits of history, and those chefs that know these books love them dearly.

We had a few of these, and now because of COVID /Coronavirus pandemic, had a bit of time on our hands, so we decided to pick a few funky recipes out of these books, source the absolute best, most authentic ingredients from legendary NYC stores, and try to put these dishes together for one “Last Supper” before the lockdown.

Shot by Roberto Serrini in one day, this little personal film is a little window into his life, and how he and his best friend were connected to their past through these amazing cookbooks. I made it to celebrate our friendship, these books, and Italy, who has been his so devastatingly hard by the pandemic.

You can find out more about the books, watch the whole film, and discover how you can help Italy recover at this website I put up:

Thanks for watching and please share and comment … the more people who discover this film, the more help Italy can get.
