‘Panna cotta’ is such a classic Italian recipe and it’s perfect for any occasion. I know you’ve probably heard people say this before, but my Mamma’s ‘panna cotta’ really is the best! Here I’ve made it with a deliciously sweet and fruity strawberry sauce (because they were in season and I always prefer seasonal) but you can chose to make any sauce you like!
The biggest secret about this dish? Well, it’s that here in the south of Italy, you can eat it for breakfast! But don’t tell anyone!
***TIPS***
1. NEVER let the cream boil – it will ruin it!
2. For the vanilla, use either powder or liquid flavouring. You might be tempted to use a vanilla pod but this will ruin the beautiful white colour of the panna cotta – and it’s not how my Mamma does it!
INGREDIENTS
1lt WHIPPED CREAM
360ml WHOLE MILK (OR TWO GLASSES)
150g SUGAR
VANILLA FLAVOURING
6 GELATINE LEAVES
STRAWBERRIES
