What is Langhe Nebbiolo?
Langhe DOC is the broad appellation around Alba in Piedmont. A Langhe Nebbiolo is made from the Barolo grape, often from younger vines or parcels outside the Barolo zone, and released young. It gives you the roses, red fruit and firm tannins of Nebbiolo without the price or the years of waiting.
What does this Langhe Nebbiolo taste like?
Light garnet in color, typical of Serralunga. On the nose, roses, black cherries and strawberries, then a moderate scent of herbs. On the palate it opens with the tartness of the tannins and the acidity typical of Serralunga, then comes back to the fruit. Austere and elegant.
What food goes with Langhe Nebbiolo?
Salumi boards and bruschetta, pizza, pasta with porcini, tagliatelle al ragù or spaghetti cacio e pepe. If you like red wine with fish, it works with salmon, amberjack and grouper.
Is this Nebbiolo organic? Does it have added sulfites?
The grapes are certified organic. Like the rest of our list, it is made with as few added sulfites as the winemaker can manage. No wine is completely sulfite free, since fermentation produces a small amount on its own.
