Welcome to AfarTV’s 24/7 live 4K camera overlooking Mount Etna, Europe’s largest and most active volcano.
According to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the current eruption is showing signs of increasing activity. Scientists report that volcanic tremor has been steadily rising in recent days, indicating increased magma movement beneath the volcano.
The eruption continues to feed lava flows from a vent high on Etna’s eastern flank, with molten rock descending into the Valle del Leone and Valle del Bove. At the summit, Strombolian explosions continue at the Voragine crater, periodically ejecting incandescent lava while volcanic gases rise above the summit. Although activity has intensified, authorities report that the lava remains confined to Etna’s upper flanks and does not currently pose an immediate threat to nearby communities.

About Mount Etna
📍 Location: Sicily, Italy
🌋 Volcano Type: Stratovolcano
⛰️ Elevation: Approximately 3,330 m (10,925 ft), though it changes following major eruptions.
🌍 Europe’s largest and most active volcano.
🏛️ A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.
The Valle del Bove is a massive horseshoe-shaped depression on Etna’s eastern flank that naturally channels many lava flows away from nearby communities, making it one of the safest and most spectacular locations to observe the volcano’s eruptive activity.
