Ep.201 We thought 16 days in George Town, Penang would be plenty. It wasn’t. Most people come for the street art and food, and those are genuinely worth it. But the longer we stayed, the more Penang started to reveal something deeper. One unexpected experience that started with a cup of gelato probably captures it best. This is what 16 days revealed that a quick visit can’t. At the end, we share our full cost breakdown.

  1. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Have you eaten durian before? What did you think of it? If not, we'd love to hear about something you've discovered in a place that most visitors probably miss? We'd love to hear it. โค โ€”Judy and Kevin

  2. You had a good stay in Penang. I've been to Malaysia so many times but I have yet to try durian. I really need to try it next time I'm there. When I was in Penang I never went outside the heritage area because I had to cut my visit short for a medical reason. I think there is a lot more to see and experience on the island. I'll have to return and explore more someday.

  3. Another great action video. Georgetown looks really good! lol the outdoor kitchen, but at least you had access to a microwave to reheat leftover meals, something Italy seems to struggle with.
Kudos on the durian session, Iโ€™d rather eat 100 cuy๐Ÿ˜‚
Challenge: how can you order food in Asia and know the meat isnโ€™t dog or cat? Chicken isnโ€™t really ibis or bat? I noticed when in Vietnam you got really close to a wet market that sell lots of live dogs for meat. Were you unaware, or is it too controversial to go there? Iโ€™m genuinely interested to learn more about this, I dare you to investigateโ€ฆ

  4. Fun video! Not having the best sense of smell is definitely a super power when it comes to dorian and the 1000 year old (century) egg. Looking forward to hearing about what parts of Trieste and the surrounding area soon. Happy Travels!

  5. Wow just wow!! I didn't have Penang/Georgetown on my dance card but I do now. You all were great ambassadors and guides for what the city offers. Great information and film editing too. So Kevin, way to throw Judy under the durian bus. ๐Ÿ˜† Nice job Judy! I think Kevin has to take the next dare, oh I mean excellent adventure. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  6. Itโ€™s so interesting to see a video of a place we have already visited with a new perspective. Thanks for posting. The info is great.

  7. Great video of a place I didn't know much about, but think it should be on our bucket list. Looks like a month wouldn't be too long. The food looks amazing. I've never smelled or tasted durian.

  8. Looking forward to your Budapest video!
I visited Georgetown for Chinese New Year last year- sadly only for 4 days, so it was wonderful to be reminded of sights I had seen, but also to see some new restaurants that I could go to should I return. I did a walking food tour while there, which was fantastic. Thanks again for your amazing content and great storytelling. ๐Ÿ˜Š
