Your baby isn’t bored of food — your breakfasts just aren’t working anymore.

If your baby is ready for more texture but you’re not sure what to serve — this Italian-inspired breakfast for 12M+ is a simple place to start.

Italian Inspired Baby Breakfast (12M+)
Cheesy tomato pancakes, soft fruit

Ingredients (with measurements):

Cheesy tomato pancakes:
• 1 egg
• 40g oat flour
• 2 tbsp milk
• 1 tbsp tomato passata
• 20g cheddar cheese (grated)
• pinch oregano
• pinch garlic powder

Side:
• soft fruit (e.g. banana slices, strawberries)

How I make it:
1. In a bowl, whisk egg, milk and passata until smooth.
2. Add oat flour, cheese and seasoning, mix into a soft batter.
3. Cook on low–medium heat until set and soft in the centre.
4. Flip carefully and cook the other side.
5. Serve with soft fruit on the side.

Why this works:

• Supports babies moving into more textured, real meals
• Soft and easy to hold for self-feeding
• Familiar flavours = better acceptance
• Simple, repeatable and realistic

Storage:

• Pancakes: fridge up to 2 days or freeze up to 1 month
• Reheat: pan or microwave until soft
• Fruit: best served fresh

Parent tip 🤍

Keep the heat low so the pancakes stay soft in the middle and don’t dry out.

If you’re earlier in your weaning journey, I’ve put together a free guide with simple 8–10 month meals 🤍

One more win for this little menu.

Shared at my baby’s current age 🤍 Always follow your baby’s readiness.
