Ingredients
Cabbage
• 1 medium green cabbage
• 2 tbsp avocado oil
• Salt and black pepper
Cream Sauce
• 1 tbsp oil
• 1 large shallot, finely diced
• 5 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 cup water + 1 tsp Better Than Bouillon (or 1 cup chicken broth)
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream
• 1 Boursin cheese
• ¼ cup parmesan cheese
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• ½ tsp onion powder
• ½ tsp Italian seasoning
• Salt and pepper to taste
Topping
• ¼ cup parmesan cheese
• fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove outer cabbage leaves and cut into 8 wedges, keeping the core intact.
2. Brush both sides with avocado oil and season well with salt and pepper.
3. Sear cabbage in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes per side until golden.
4. Transfer to a 9×13 baking dish, placing wedges snugly together.
5. In the same skillet, cook shallot in oil for 3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
6. Pour in water with Better Than Bouillon (or broth) and let it simmer for a few minutes.
7. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Whisk in the Boursin until smooth.
8. Stir in parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Let it simmer until slightly thickened, then season with salt and pepper.
9. Pour sauce over the cabbage and sprinkle parmesan on top.
10. Cover with foil and bake for 50–60 minutes until very tender. Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve & enjoy.
