Per non fare errori quando usate la parola “gente”, ricordate che è femminile singolare, infatti vuole l’articolo “la”: LA GENTE.
Per esempio:
“La gente va a fare la spesa nel fine settimana”, “Non mi piace quando la gente è maleducata”, “In centro c’è molta gente oggi”.
“Gente” non è numerabile quindi “una gente” non è corretto, non si può dire!
È possibile sostituire “la gente” con “le persone” (femminile plurale):
“Le persone vanno a fare la spesa nel fine settimana”, “Non mi piace quando le persone sono maleducate”, “In centro ci sono molte persone”.
If you don’t want to make mistakes with the word “gente”, remember that it is feminine and singular. So, the article it requires is “la”: LA GENTE.
For example:
“La gente va a fare la spesa nel fine settimana” = “People go shopping at the weekend”, “Non mi piace quando la gente è maleducata” = “I don’t like it when people are rude”, “In centro c’è molta gente oggi” = “There are a lot of people in the city centre today”.
The word “gente” is uncountable therefore you can’t say “una gente”, it is not correct!
You can replace “la gente” with “le persone” (feminine and plural):
“Le persone vanno a fare la spesa nel fine settimana” = “People go shopping at the weekend”, “Non mi piace quando le persone sono maleducate” = “I don’t like it when people are rude”, “In centro ci sono molte persone” = “There are a lot of people in the city centre today”.
