I was craving tortillini the other day and didn't have any, but I did have semolina in the house, so I took some time to teach my kids about handmade pasta. We taste tested the filling, my daughter noticed they were basically mini dumplings, and we all got a chance to try our hand at shaping them. Admittedly I was very traditional while they got creative, but it was a lot of fun!

I never had a chance to meet my Italian grandparents (although I've heard my grandfather would claim to be Sicilian if you let him ๐Ÿ˜‚) so I try to use food they would have eaten as a way to know them. I like to think if I had known them, I would've had the same experience I shared with my kids.
