Tiramisu

Ingredients:
For the Mascarpone Cream:
8 oz mascarpone cheese
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2 egg yolks
¼ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup heavy cream

To Assemble:
1 cup coffee, warm
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp granulated sugar
6 extra-long ladyfingers (I used gluten-free)
Cocoa powder, for topping

Directions:
For the Mascarpone Cream: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to mix the mascarpone cheese until creamy
In a separate, heat-safe bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar
Bring a pot of water to a boil, then place the bowl with the egg yolk mixture on top of the boiling water, making sure none of the water touches the bowl
Use an electric mixer to whisk on high for two minutes, then remove from the heat and let cool
Once cooled to room temperature, pour the egg yolk mixture into the mascarpone cheese and use an electric mixture mixer to mix until just combined
In a third large bowl, use an electric mixer to mix the heavy cream until stiff peaks form
Fold the heavy cream into the mascarpone mixture, and set aside
To Assemble: Soak the ladyfingers in the coffee one at a time right before use
In a deep rectangular tin, cover the bottom with the coffee-soaked ladyfingers
Add a layer of the mascarpone cream on top and flatten with spatula
Repeat until you get to the top of the container, the mascarpone cream should be on top
Dust cocoa powder over the top, leave in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours to set, then serve

Enjoy!!

  1. I remmber in 2nd class our teacher brought in all the ingredents for tiramisu and made it with us it was so fun and its definitly one of my core memories

  2. James Hoffman has a video. It's unlikely it was invented in a brothel. That's probably a sensationalist story, but it spreads better.

It was def served in brothels. But invented?

  3. "High in calories"… It containes half of the calories that are in normal american cake

  4. I mean jazz was invented in brothels, not saying it’s a good establishment but it gave us these two great things 🤷‍♂️

  5. i will bet real money that the true origin is the brothel and rich white men just were too embarassed to admit it so they decided to give the credit to the other rich white man that 100% learned the recipe from the brothel but was the first "decent" establishment to serve it, so he "invented" it

and yes, i'm calling the french white
