Scrape off anything bulky. If you can’t scrape it off easily, bake the stone until you can scrape it off easily.
Don’t get it wet. Don’t use any cleaning products on it.

I find that flipping it over and cooking it on the other side magically helps clean the side you don’t use.
I burn a pizza every once in a while. I clean as best I can with water and a brush, then cook on the other side. The original side then looks much nicer.
