Deep Creek Lake in Maryland is one of Maryland’s best kept secrets. I’m going to try the food around there to see if it’s any good. We’re trying everything from an antiques shop with a diner inside to a brewery that sells pizza. All of the food here was great! Yes the buckwheat cake is popular also in West Virginia and like down here in West Virginia people and churches and bussiness do buckwheat cake feeds and there very popular down in West Virginia especially the mountain part of West Virginia.

If you haven’t yet, you should do a restaurant tour of Annapolis, my hometown. Also I just found what I consider by far the best bbq in Maryland, 2Fifty BBQ in Riverdale Park.

We like the DCL area but it is generally too expensive – no real off season there.
