This Italian Oven Fried Chicken is crispy, cheesy, and baked — not deep fried! A simple Parmesan breadcrumb coating gives you that crunchy texture with juicy chicken every time.
👉 I used boneless chicken breasts instead of a whole cut-up chicken. Adjust cook time based on thickness and always cook to 165°F internal temp (I use an instant-read thermometer).
INGREDIENTS
• 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
• 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
• 1 cup dry breadcrumbs
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/2 cup butter, melted
• Olive oil (for pan)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Lightly coat bottom of baking pan with olive oil.
In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Coat chicken breasts with melted butter.
Roll in breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
Place in baking pan.
Bake 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F (use an instant-read thermometer).
Rest 5 minutes before serving.
💡 Cook time will vary depending on thickness. Thicker breasts may need 35–40 minutes.
