In this video, I’ll show you how to make a classic Italian wedding soup with tender meatballs and delicate pastina that cooks right in the pot. It’s warm, nourishing, and deeply comforting—the kind of meal that feels like a hug.

  2. Joyful Giovanna – it's wonderful to have this latest addition to your archive! Aside from this heartwarming recipe, let me compliment you on your finger nails. Wonderful to meet your delightful daughter, Dr. Nicoletta LaMarca Sacco, who set me straight about the name of this soup at 3:56 Italian Wedding Soup is a mistranslation of "minestra maritata," meaning "married soup," referring to the marriage of meat and vegetables, not a wedding celebration.

  3. One of my favorites and looks delicious! I'm especially delighted to know the true meaning behind the name of the soup! Much love from Colorado ❤ 💕

  4. I never realized that “pastina” could be made fresh! Thanks for this wonderful recipe. I wonder if I could make it with gluten free flour?

  5. This was so lovely and I'm so glad to see you back! I've always wanted to try to make this soup. You making those little meatballs with your daughter reminded me of when I was a little girl and made similar little meatballs with my grandma for the Christmas lasagna. 💖

  6. I use a garlic press bella!

Thanks for clarifying the "Wedding Soup" misnomer & your recipe.

Edit: Did I miss the addition of chopped spinach?

  7. Beautiful, beautiful. Looks delicious. Thank you so much, Happy Valentines Day! Karla in Cali.

  8. I love wedding soup. My fathers family made it all through the winter months. It was so good. And oddly it was made around Christmas time a lot to.

  9. Just ordered your Sicilian Feasts cookbook, Giovanna! I love this soup but have never made it. Thank you!
