Welcome to a week of food at my mum’s house in a small Italian village 🇮🇹

In this video, I’m taking you into the heart of everyday Italian life through what we eat over a week -simple, seasonal meals made with love and tradition. From homemade pasta to fresh vegetables from the garden, from slow-cooked sauces to family recipes passed down through generations, every meal tells a story.

You’ll see breakfast with local orange juices and bread, hearty lunches that bring everyone together, and dinners full of laughter, stories, and the kind of food that nourishes both body and soul. Nothing fancy, nothing staged – just real food, real family, and the rhythms of village life.

If you love Italy, home cooking, family traditions, or authentic village life, this one’s for you 🤍

  1. My first time seeing your videos and it was amazing !! I greatly enjoyed seeing your family interactions, the cooking, the different foods in your towns !! Also your mom is so awesome: she climbs trees to pick fruits and forages for wild mushrooms, that is a super mom !!

  4. Irene, this was a fantastic video! Thank you. I have questions. In the UK if we make a big dish of pasta or something else, we eat the leftovers the next day, or we freeze some portions to eat another day. Though maybe because we live in the countryside and not near a takeaway. There is no food delivery here. You mentioned you don't eat the leftovers and eat only fresh. Is this a Calabrian thing or an Italian thing? We don't get sick from our leftover food in the UK. 😉 Yes please, house tour, village tour. ps: I forgot to ask, what is it about mozzerella cheese that some people die eating it in Italy? Are they choking?

  5. I love how you celebrate your family and food. You are beautiful. Thanks for the video.

  9. Fried potatoes onions and peppers is a favourite but my mum always added peas and whisked a couple of eggs and mixed in. Always has to have a lot of fresh cracked pepper through jt I cooked it just this week. Im Sicilian living in the UK and loving your videos so nostalgic.

This video like a treatment for my soul during cold winter time.
