Checked out Savoy Tomato & Cheese and Pizza Marumo in Tokyo. Pizza Y at Savoy is pretty famous I guess, corn & mayo base, rare bluefin tuna and chives, side of wasabi. Fantastic but they had a seasonal special with spinach, spicy salami, anchovies and fresh cream which was arguably better.

Got the Japanese umami pizza at Marumo which is their signature and a flavour profile I haven’t really experienced with pizza before. It’s fishy. Do what you will with that information. Also got the “red hot chili”, spicy salami, nduja and so on. Cool thing about this one was there was a few kinds of shiso on it and it really complimented the spice and added a refreshing herbaceous kinda thing.

Both places had a super satisfying lighter chewy dough. Sisiliya in Yokohama is still my fav pizza in Japan but there are a lot I haven’t tasted.
