Cold weather calls for comfort food ❄️
This Turkey Italian Sausage, Kale & Wild Rice Soup is hearty, cozy, and perfect for winter days.
Quick Recipe:
• 1/2 pound of Mild turkey italian sausage
• 1/2 pound of Hot turkey italian sausage
• 1 tsp fresh minced garlic
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tbs oregano
• Salt, pepper & Badia Complete Seasoning
• 1 cup of Chopped kale (Fresh or Frozen)
• Chicken broth
• Corn Starch
• 1 cup Wild rice
Cook Italian Sausage in pot with minced garlic, oregano, and all seasoning until done. Add kale and turn down heat and cook for 10 mins. Add 6 cups of water, and 2 cups of chicken broth. Simmer over stove. While simmering, in a separate pot, cook wild rice until all water is evaporated. Add 2 1/2 Tbs of cornstarch to 1 cup of potlikker. Mix well and add back to the entire pot of soup (this will cause the soup to thicken). Season to taste and simmer another 20 mins. Turn off heat and add wild rice to soup. Allow to stand 10 mins and serve.
