Meat, cheese, and two slices of bread. It’s a trinity that’s satisfied appetites all over the world. But Mexico’s take on the every-man staple deserves a place in the sandwich hall of fame. Defined by its chewy, baguette-like bread, the torta turns Mexican meats like lamb barbacoa into handheld snacks. At Brooklynβs La Loncheria, the sandwich gets an international spin, where chef Luis JimΓ©nez meshes the torta with elements of the Vietnamese banh mi. No matter the style, the torta is a bucket-list item for sandwich-lovers from Mexico City to NYC.

Savage torta!!!
This looks amazing, I love Mexican food. Vegans youβre missing out. Stop hugging those trees and trying to save the polar bears. And eat meat !
The tortas I normally eat have chilis too.
Man, it's great seeing tortas getting love. I used to sell tortas de jamΓ³n at school LOL
I go to this place Tacos Lupita where I live all the time and I always wanted to try a torta but the burritos are so damn good that's all I get Everytime I'm there. I'll have to try a torta sometime!
Every time he said torta I cringed a little, but that's just me.
Great take on the Bahn Mi ! Mexican food makes for the best fusions! My favorites are Mexican/Indian and Mexican/South-East Asian.

Mexican tortas? Don't you just mean… Tortas?
I was salivating every second of this video
"torta" in Bulgarian (ΡΠΎΡΡΠ°) means "cake", so yeah, can't go wrong there xD
Now these actually look damn good.
Tortas are hands down the BEST thing EVER made π
A torta isnt a sandwich lol
"Ven a mi" for the bÑnh mì means "come to me" in Spanish. Punny. Nice.

This made me hangry!…good stuffβ
I think these guys are over complicating it… just keep it simple traditional-style itβs a street car food they are doing too much
Did he say adobo? Woot woot from the Philippines
Wtf is this shit! Trying to make this all fancy and what not π€¦π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ, get a regular torta! Like a torta de asada o de adobada but lamb and all this shit wtf! You should be ashamed of yourself
string cheese???
Had a next level torta at my usual spot here in DC. Had chorizo in it. Tortas are amazing and people who say they have to only be cheap street food are saying it canβt be an art form like French or Italian cooking when it absolutely can. And I say this as a Mexican American who has eaten his fair share of street tacos and nachos
Tortas?
π€π
Im a Mexican guy, (from Mexico City to be precise). And I really think the main ingredients of a torta are:
-Bolillo bread
-Mayonnaise
-Protein
-Cheese
If you want to take it to the next level, add some avocado. And your torta is done.
Une adresse en France ?

If yβall want a real Torta. Go to a real Torta place. These look amazing but, does not offer that real Torta experience
I just commenting because there were 444 comments and that number annoying meπ
my favorite torta is "torta de quesillo"
These are gourmet tortas. In a traditional Mexican home we use to have a bolillo with beans, cheese, meat, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, ham and if available some avocado. No fancy meat.
It cost 2$ to make but they charge 20$ fir a sandwich πππ
