This ultra-creamy, cheesy, truffle infused mac and cheese is the perfect side dish to level up your holiday table. Simple ingredients, rich flavor, and that irresistible golden top.
Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup butter, melted
– 1/4 cup flour
– 1 tsp truffle-infused oil (can use more, adjust to taste)
– 1 tsp black pepper
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 garlic clove, grated
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 3 cups milk
– 4-6 cups of your favorite cheese mix: I used mozzarella (for stretch), gruyere, sharp cheddar, parmesan
– Pasta of choice (cooked al dente)
Instructions:
1. Melt butter and whisk in flour. Toast until nutty and lightly browned.
2. Add truffle oil, black pepper, salt, and grated garlic. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Pour in heavy cream and milk, whisking until smooth.
4. Add your cheese blend (save some for topping). Stir until melted.
5. Combine the sauce with cooked al dente pasta.
6. Transfer to a baking dish, top with the remaining cheese, and bake at 375°F for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden.
