The great replacement of Italian Americans in Brooklyn is very depressing and real.
I grew up in the glorious 80's NYC, It was steeped and drenched in ambience of Italian, Jewish and Irish old world feels. The very soul of New York is evaporating quickly,

Someone should step in and buy the building for them- just to keep it open. Tons of billionaires in NYC and I can name 10 off the top of my head. Bloomberg, Schwartzman, Ross, Langone, Ziff, Diller, Ziff, Stern, Murdoch and Simons. Now, mist of these are Jews but come on- this is tip money for them. Bloomberg alone is worth $100 billion.

Gotta love the comments here, hardly anyone blaming the cause for this, but many jackoffs harping about replacement theory and all sorts of nonsense. I bought a dozen Italian eggs this morning for less than two dollars, but I live in Europe where voters and politicians don’t let corporations run wild.
The rent is too damn high, and you’re better off looking at Black Rock than worrying about the neighbourhood’s ethnic makeup.
By the way, those immigrants aren’t wealthy, or better off than you. They room together more than native born Americans, and pool their resources.

Everytime I visit CT another deli is gone. So sad that all of these places will be gone along with the families that are like an extension of your own family. A bunch of aunts and uncles and grandparents that have been in your life and now they are gone.
