RIVA DI SOLTO — A HIDDEN GEM ON LAKE ISEO: WINE, PEACE AND THE HEART OF ITALY
Riva di Solto is a picturesque village on the western shore of Lake Iseo in Lombardy, Italy — a peaceful place untouched by mass tourism. With just over 1,100 residents, this charming village preserves the authentic rhythm of Italian life, offering visitors tranquility, stunning views, and centuries of history.
The village is known for its medieval architecture, including the Church of San Nicola and ancient stone towers that tell the story of a rich past. One of the highlights is the annual Vino a Riva wine festival, held each May. Here, locals and visitors come together to enjoy tastings of regional wines, traditional cuisine, and live music, all set against the backdrop of narrow alleys and lakefront views.
Riva di Solto also lies near the famous Franciacorta wine region, known for producing Italy’s finest sparkling wines using the classic method. Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero grapes, these wines offer a taste of true Italian craftsmanship.
