Thanks for the info. For your consideration, I wish you would omit the background music. It's distracting and serves no purpose.
My best indicator apart from everything else you mentioned is walk discreetly around up and down and carefully peek and observe on the plates of people already eating. 9/10 I can understand pretty well the quality of the food just by the visuals.
The "guy standing outside inviting you to come in" is something which defnitely puts me off rather than convinces me to stay there. Though fell for a kind of tourist trap myself recently on a restaurant where reviews were 4.7 Stars, but havent had a closer look before go thoughing in. Found out it was very hectic and no locals in there, but too late. Left very quick after the meal.
