You need this recipe for the playoff games this weekend!
ITALIAN BEEF
3 1/2 – 4 pounds beef chuck roast
1 (12-ounce) can beer (you choose the flavor or use 1 1/2 cups beef stock or broth, low sodium or unsalted)
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix (dry)
1 (16-ounce) jar pepperoncini peppers (with the liquid)
Optional: Hard rolls, Hoagie Buns, French bread, etc. Marinated Italian Vegetables, cheese.
LETS MAKE IT:
To a slow cooker, add the beer or broth, dry dressing mix and entire jar of peppers. Whisk to combine. Add the beef chuck roast. Turn it a couple times, then add the lid and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until fork tender.
OVEN METHOD: Add the ingredients to a pot with a lid. Bake at 350 for 2 hours, lower the heat and bake another 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes before shredding.
MAKE THE SANDWICHES – we dip our meat in the juice and then add it to the buns. Add you favorite toppings, we use Smoky Bacon Cheese ( Kraft),
Marinated Italian Vegetables, and we dip them the crock pot reduction!
