In the winter and fall, this soup really warms me up. This is an easy-to-make recipe, and it can be prepared a day or two in advance. If you want to embellish it and make it a fabulous antipasto, you can add croutons or some poached shrimp just before serving. Join me in my kitchen, along with my beloved late mother, Nonna Erminia, and my granddaughter Julia, as I prepare it for you here. Tutti a Tavola a Mangiare!

Lydia, I grew up watching you on pbs as a small child about 4 years old (now 36). I feel like I am part of your family too!!! Im so happy for a platform like youtube which allows me to stay apart of you and your life!! And now as an adult I get to recreate your recipes 🥹. Thank you for your light 🙏🏽

Hi Lydia,I have been wanting to make butternut squash soup. Thank you for the recipe. ❤
What a beautiful family, along with the best recipes. I look forward to every presentation!
I love you and y0ur beautiful family.
That photograph of the grand kids with you and Grandma just an epic memory!
I like your videos before I watch them, so I don't forget. (150 or so). I do that for a handful of content creators, and then I go back and flip off the like switch if I have changed my mind.
I've never had to do that for you.
I am third generation with my mom's ancestry from Northern (near Genoa and Bologna) and my dad's from Naples, I have tasted much exquisite, sensational Italian cooking.
I just cannot handle the Calabrian peppers nowadays (I'm 70 now, and no I don't want any advice).
Lidia, do you know that my Grandma from the North, wouldn't accept my Father from Naples heritage. What is that a few hundred kilometers away!
What a world, huh? It just keeps on mirroring the past.
I wanna add though. As I had just come back from the Tide cleaners and dry-cleaning,, I feel your exuberance on the apron issue; that you can afford laundry services and/or have the time to do it yourself and/or to replace, will be a little off-putting for those who can't.
I love you and yours,

It's always a bonus when Nonna Erminia is there. She was such a treasure. I'm sure I'm not alone as a regular viewer in saying that I feel like I lost a relative too when she passed. You are so fortunate to have had her for such a long and healthy life, and that you have so many videos with her. Thanks for sharing her with us!
Old video. Sadly, Gramma has passed away years ago.
This Butternut Squash Soup recipe looks so delicious 😋 Chef Lidia.
Soups are very much under-rated. Always fills you up and keeps you warm!!!!! Croutons…….never thought of that! ❤
Hello Lidia and Gramma. Soups are fantastic, delicious, and simple to make. I love all kinds of soup, my favorite soup is homemade beef barley, or chicken noodle. I would always help my Nonon in the kitchen, learned so many things. Thank you Lidia 😊 Ciaó ❤
It’s not the same with our grandmother those are very special memories thank you Lydia 🙏🏻❤️
