  1. Great video, loved this! Here's a tip, I throw my cottage cheese mixture in a ziplock bag, cut a corner and pipe it onto the noodles because it's a pain to spread it. Perfect every time.

  2. I add sliced provolone to one layer… yum. We did lasagna for Christmas. I always use the Taste of Home recipe. Homemade for the win.

  3. Someone gave us one of these. Our family didn’t like it as they're used to homemade . The box is probably more healthy on most frozen dinners than the dinner😂

  4. My family loves lasagna with either red sauce (with hamburger) or Alfredo (with chicken). ❤ Homemade is best ☺️

  5. The boys had me!!! I started making my own sauce and my boys too find it their favorites I will add some water next time and not boil the noodles saves time I do add spinach to ours to get those veggies in😊

  6. I've always found my homemade lasagna to be less than store bought. Although I use shaky cheese Parmesan. But homemade tastes so much better. When your kids s said the store bought one sauce tasted like spaghetti-o's…OMG, I could actually taste that sickly sweet flavor. Homemade for the win.

  7. We had a big party here, last night, and I made my lasagne. It got rave reviews. I use cottage cheese, sour cream, shredded mozzarella and cream cheese for my filling. However, I used a Prego sauce. I usually have several small pans in my freezer. It's a family favorite.

  8. (2013) STOUFFERS LASAGNE,BACK IN THE DAY WAS REALLY GOOD,NOT TO MENTION,I COULD ALWAYS FIND MANUFACTURERS COUPONS,THEN COMBINE WITH STORE SALE;GET IT FOR $4 OR 5 DOLLARS!!! JUMP TO PRESENT,JUST DOES NOT TASTE THE SAME ;NOT AS GOOD(I CAN TELL WHEN THERE'S LEFTOVERS & KIDS WON'T ASK FOR SECONDS) I'VE ALWAYS BEEN HOME COOK;WE DON'T EAT OUT ANYMORE. I WILL GET DOMINO'S WHEN I GET GIFT CARDS FROM WALGREENS *OR WIN $$$ I'VE BEEN TEACHING MY KIDS HOW TO COOK & HOW TO BUDGET. HOMEMADE LASAGNE IS CHEAPER(I'M A COUPONER) & TASTES SOO MUCH BETTER.

  9. Christine, did you use the "oven ready" noodles or just the regular ones you usually boil? I'd love to skip the boiling step, but I'm afraid I have the kind you have to boil, and I'd end up with crunchy lasagna instead of normal. Happy New Year!

  10. IMO, the Kirkland beef and sausage lasagna is fantastic. Two 3lb trays, and easily serves 3=4 hungry people per tray. About $16 for the 2pk, and about $12.50 on sale, maybe 2x per year. As good or better than most homemade lasagna I have had.

  11. I'm kinda a lasagne snob and NO WAY am I eatting frozen lasagne. My lasagne is delish (even though I have to use gluten free noodles these days) and my family would die if I tried to feed them that frozen garbage.

  12. I never have bought a frozen Lasagna, so thanks to your boys I'm not missing out. 😅😊❤

  13. Not a fan of ice cream sandwiches 😢 I would try those flavors of ice cream though 😊this was a fun video! Thank you.

  14. For meal prepping purposes- would you freeze your homemade lasagna and cook later or cook first, freeze, and then reheat later?

  15. Homemade always better way too much garlic in the frozen store bought for my taste and the sauce always tastes weird. Homemade wins in our home!!

  16. I love Stouffer products but hubby's right, not as healthy and way too much sodium. I'm so glad someone else doesn't add salt when using pre-made ingredients. I've never tried cottage cheese and will the next time I make lasgna.

  17. I once bought that frozen lasagna … once.
Mine is so much better ( not just my opinion). I am expected to bring it every time I visit my brother and SIL. I make enough for their daughter, son-in-law and 2 teenage sons if they are home from college. I also am not allowed in the house (my brother's words 😊) without my home made cheesecake.

  18. I make my lasagna with uncooked noodles, too! Not the "no cook" ones, which I think have a strange texture. And I add extra water to my sauce. The only difference is that I make it ahead and let it sit a couple of hours in the fridge. This softens the noodles before bsking. Good to know it can be baked without this step!
For thr Ricotta layer, I also add an egg and I don't notice any graininess. Maybe try that? Although, I have used cottage cheese as well as sour cream in a pinch.
I also add onion, green bell pepper and mushrooms to my sauce.

  19. I tried a crockpot lasagna recipe a few years ago and the pasta lovers in our fam prefer it over any other version (homemade or store bought). It's a similar amount of work since it's still layered, but it's nice to just leave it and not have to watch it. And, it still gets the crispy edges!

  20. 🤣 Love the ice cream sandwich reviews! Definitely would try those if I found them here (and they weren’t ridiculously priced 😉).

  21. I've never met a vegetarian lasagne I didn't like but homemade is always worth the effort. I need to buy a rectangular pan though because I only have round dishes at the moment and that is always a pain!!

  22. I have a stouffer’s lasagna in my freezer because I got a BOGO deal. We ate the first one and it was so bad, I have no desire to bake the other one!
