  1. Piatto italianissimo, se fatto però all’italiana e non “all’americana” con i “polpettoni”. La pasta con le polpettine, quelle piccoline piccoline, ricordo da ragazzino (oramai vivo quasi da una vita qui in Germania) che nel mio paesino, in provincia di Salerno (Campania) quando la domenica andavo a trovare mia nonna, sapendo che mi piacevano, mi faceva trovare i rigatoni con le polpettine. 😋

  2. Exactly like mine, except the bay leaf. But I add one teaspoon of white sugar if the tomato purée or sauce is on the bitter side. Nice to see onions in a meat ball. It does give them a better flavor. I serve them separately but when the pasta comes to the table. I think in America, my grandparents gave up formality with the way work is here. I married a woman whose family is from Campania. My mother’s parents are from Liguria. I learned to put onions in the meatballs and this was a shock to them. I do not know if this was a regional thing or family thing. But, to my wife’s grandmother’s dismay, they liked mine better. She did too because I took over all the holiday cooking.

  3. Queste ricette vanno bene per i non italiani che non ne capiscono niente di cucina italiana. In qualche commento si dice di aggiungere lo zucchero nella salsa. Un disastro di cucina.
