This is one of those passed down receipts i got from my mothers side. Her mom grew up during the great depression/dust bowl, and her did was in the military so they taught my mom how to make it and i loved it as a kid and I still make it from time to time.
I'm weird that I love food like this… But… I want vegetables! I wish American breakfast had more veggies in it! I'd try to add onions and garlic to the gravy at the minimum but if I had time I'd fine shred zucchini and incorporate that in as well. Oh!!! Mushroom powder!!! That would be amazing!

My grandma used to make this but, it was called SOS or shit on a shingle. lol
My dad used to always make corn chowder (I think it was called) on toast. Good memories if that.
