In this On The Road Special Edition, Stevie Kim returns to the Campi Flegrei in the southern Italian region of Campania to discover some of the region’s best food and wine pairings.

On Day 1, Stevie is at the Osteria Abraxas in Pozzuoli with Gerardo Vernazzaro from the Cantine Astroni winery.

The first dish they try is the “Zuppa di Baccalà con pomodoro, corbarino e patate” paired with Colle Imperatrice 2022 made with 100% Falanghina grapes.

The second dish is “Carne in padella con aglio, prezzemolo e pomodorino” paired with Colle Rotondella 2022 made with 100% Piedirosso grapes.

On Day 2, Stevie and Gerardo visit the Locanda il Testardo restaurant in Bacoli.

The first dish they taste is the “Baccalà croccante e scarole” paired with Astro Spumante made with 100% Falanghina grapes.

The second dish is “Gillardeau Oysters” paired with Strione made with 100% Falanghina grapes.

Finally, Stevie heads to the Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria in Bagnoli where Cristina Varchetta from the Cantine Astroni winery explains the growing trend of pairing pizza with local wines made from Falaghina and Piedirosso grapes.
