Snack and wine pairing! Since I live in Japan Tokyo I have alot of different and unique snacks close by. The selection of wine is all Italian this time. More about that further down in the description bellow.
The snacks we took on were following:
#1 Yuzu potato chips – 柚子 ポテトチップス
#2 Kappa Ebi Sen – かっぱえびせん
#3 Taiyaki – 鯛焼き
#4 Giant caprico – ジャイアントカプリコ
Also this is not the first time we have had a Japanese snack and wine pairing.

(Red) The Wine Selection Damson Medium Bodied Abruzzo Montepulciano 2013
*For a supermarket wine, this is a great deal!
A Montepulciano d’abruzzo with a medium minus body if I could add to the name. Kinda expected a little more boom on the structure.
Tastingnotes: Blackberries, a little dried fruit and spices.
A little old oak on finish. I’d pair this with a great amount of pasta aswell as some lean meat dishes.*
(White) Isola Terre Siciliane Chardonnay 2014
* Sunny and mineral rich sicilia! The most interesting area of Italy. If you ask me.
This 100% Chardonnay is nothing but good wine! Straight up! It is well balanced but hanging on the fruit side of tropical acidity.
Medium body with a flavorful and refreshing finish. Alot of pineapple and lemon appeal. Yellow apples and minerality.
I’d spend my money on this one again for sure*
