  1. Pasta was hugely popular in the U.S. in the first half of the 1800s though by this time the very, very poor were probably not eating it as it was considered a "trendy food". The rich and middling class (what we know would call the middle class) however prized pasta. The first pasta factory opened up in the U.S. in Philadelphia in 1798 (no, it wasn't the 1840s like the first Google search result would have you believe). Upper-class Americans also bought pasta imported from Sicily, which they showed off, as pasta was such a hip food you would have impressed your snob friends by having it on the table. Dried pasta has been around since the 12th century, and made it ideal for storage and shipment. Macaroni in the 18th and early 19th centuries did not look like the macaroni of today. Instead it looked more like what we'd now recognize as rigatoni, a hollow & straight noodle cut into short tubes. This looked amazing definitely going to try it for sure i will add more.cheese to the pasta but thats it ..and my.ocd was.medding with me so bad i would have had to scrape the chicken out of that pan there was a good bit still in it i would have had to scrape it clean but my OCD makes me do those things i was nervously biting my lip like i know shes gonns scrape the rest right then u didnt and i was like omg whyyyyyyy lmbo

  4. Looks great, although if I were making it I would probably add the chicken last to just heat through after making the sauce with the mushrooms etc. Because if you’re using cooked chicken, it could get very dry if you cook it even more, when you’re already going to cook it again in the oven.

    The original recipe seems to call for raw chicken, in which case it would make sense to add it to the pan first.

  7. That was a heck of alot of prep work. But it's for the simplicity of feeding a large family with one great heap into each bowl with a slice of homemade bread perhaps so they wipe up every tasty morsel leaving the bowl practically clean. Serving dinner and cleanup afterwards is greatly reduced.
