To make my Italian Wine Cookies Recipe, you will need:
cookie sheet
silicone mat or parchment paper

1/2 cup white wine – a dry red may also be used
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil (I used veggie oil, feel free to substitute)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
sugar for coating the cookies (about 1/4 cup should be plenty)
1 tsp anise seeds

Let’s get baking:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
2. mix together the wine, oil, sugar, salt, baking powder, and anise seeds
3. gradually incorporate the flour into the mixture
4. turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it together
5. shape the dough – roll it into logs about 5″ long, then take those logs and create a donut-like shape (with almost no hole)
6. coat your unbaked cookies in sugar
7. bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown in color
8.Your Italian Wine Cookies are ready to serve at a party, eat right away, or package up and give to friends.
