I am allergic to celery so I recreated it without. This is my first time making bolognese without any jarred sauce

I browned ground beef in a pan, along with onions and a little olive oil. I added grated carrot, heavy handed Italian seasonings (whole and ground), a can of tomato paste, a chopped can of whole tomatoes, finely chopped garlic, splash of milk, and a healthy amount of salt and pepper. Simmer for 1 hour on medium low.
Toss with angel hair with a little pasta water.
I topped with fresh Parmesan after taking this imags

Tbh your recipe looks good. I would have simmered longer and added celery but it sounds delicious. I also like the addition of chopped garlic here.

  3. Looks really legit. It would be very Italian to toss the al dente pasta and ragu together in a pan and let sit for a minute before plating.

  4. So you have had jarred ragù sauces before? I’m pretty sure they contained some celery

No 😠. It’s balonese as in baloney, ok?

On the internet, nothing counts as “real” bolognese.

Looks more like ragu alla napoletana, ragu alla bolognese uses less tomatoes.
