Almond Anise Biscotti
1/3 cup almond or soy milk
2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
¾ cup sugar
½ cup canola oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract
1 2/3 cups all purpose flour or whole wheat pastry flour
2 tbsp arrowroot powder
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp aniseeds
½ tsp salt
1 cup whole, raw almonds

Chocolate Hazelnut Biscotti
1/3 cup almond or soy milk
2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
¾ cup plus 2 tbsp sugar
½ cup canola oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp almond extract
1 ½ cups all purpose flour or whole wheat pastry flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (or Dutch-processed)
2 tbsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup whole raw hazelnuts
