Braciole is a classic Italian favourite that’s sure to please the whole family. Tender slices of beef or pork are rolled up with savory fillings like Parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic before being braised in an irresistible tomato-based sauce. Serve it over pasta, or Polenta with a side of sauteed vegetables. Either way there’ll be no leftovers!

Slices of the top round (topside) can be quite large so if they are, you’ll want to cut them to make it the perfect size to accommodate two slices of prosciutto. It needs to be pounded to be thin and tenderised.

Braciole offers something special for any occasion; whether you’re looking for a hearty weeknight dinner idea or prepping ahead of time for entertaining guests this traditional dish packs all sorts delicious flavours into one impressive main course.

  1. If my grandma was around, she'd swear you were peeking in the window while she was preparing this. I'd bet your sauce is even more tasty.

  2. You have an angel at home, whiskey is the one. I like your Braciole I will try, is like always, a delicatessen.
    Congratulations from California.

  3. Wow, mouthwatering! I cook braciole quite often, only difference I use pecorino romano cheese. By the way, have you ever tried the 'bombette pugliesi'?

  4. I’m making this today for Sunday lunch
Always wondered what exactly it was and how it was done. Love the bit at the end with the dog, my dogs exactly the same with I make a lamb roast dinner, she stares at me then takes the bone and walks off with it, probably quietly chewing for the next hour or so,

  5. Brilliant! And very, very, clear! I wouldn't use prosciutto because we don't, but the rest sounds grand.

  6. The only observation I have is that using bakers twine might make the browning a bit easier, than using toothpicks.

  7. Not again!!!!
    Come on!!!
Excellent recipe but again you gave the dog the bone!!!
Give him real food for a change!!!
Or… don’t video the moment you give him the bone!!! Please please 🙏

  8. Truly a classic. I likely made it monthly, during the pandemic. Served with rigatoni or penne.

  9. Came for the braciole stayed for the clean edits, music and lovely dog.
Made this and really liked the sauce. Was difficult to hold back my Indian hand and add spices.

  10. I love seeing you and your collie together. What a beauty and an obedient dog!
Thank you for sharing your easy and yummy recipes!

  11. Ok, TBH I was waiting for the dog to get his part , the best part of this video
