Planeta is an organic winery. They started their project in 1985 and since then they have exploded. This is a family winery that also specialises in more than just wine, they have also expanded into tourism, agri-tourismo.
Alessio Planeta is also as a board member of Sicily SOStain Foundation. The main goal of the Sicily SOStain Foundation is to promote ethical and sustainable development in the Sicilian wine sector, developing a culture of sustainability at all levels, orienting production and consumption patterns to raise awareness in Sicily and elsewhere of the importance of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
