These burgers are only 4sp for the entire recipe!!! Low fat, low sodium, no added sugar and high protein!!
A great lunch, brunch, dinner option for yourself, company or for any celebration or holiday party!!
Ingredients:
Double, triple this simple recipe and keep in your fridge or long term in your freezer in a sealed container!
1 454 gm pkg or more of extra lean chicken meat
1/2 cup mushrooms ( optional)
1/2 cup of arugala / spinach mixture or any other type of vegetable.
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs 3sp
2tbs of choice of low fat shredded cheese ( I used zerto Romano)1sp
1 tbs sugar free bbq sauce ( I used Guy’s)
2tsp of both onion and garlic powder
1tsp chili flakes ( optional or hot sauce)
1/2 cup red or any onion chopped finely
Pink Himalayan salt and pepper to taste
Directions :
In a skillet spray well and allow to get hot on a medium to high temperature
Add chopped onion and sautΓ©
Add chopped mushrooms and mix
Once brown add arugala / spinach until soft
Turn off skillet and add to a bowl to cool down
Set aside
In a large bowl add chicken, spices, cheese, bread crumbs and stir
Add in vegetables once cool and mix with hands
For freezing without cooking :
Form burgers with a round cookie cutter or simply with your hands make patties
Add to a cookie sheet lined with wax or parchment paper!
Freeze and once frozen add to a sealed container or baggies!
They freeze well.
Or you can pan grill, bbq or bake in the oven!! You can add extra bbq sauce on top as well!!
Enjoy with your favourite condiments!! Add a salad, raw vegetables, fruit and whatever bun you enjoy!!
