Ingredients

Servings: 4
1 cup(s) all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 eggs
2 cup(s) Italian-style breadcrumbs
1 12 ounce bag of refrigerated or frozen cheese ravioli
Canola or vegetable oil, for frying
Marinara sauce
¼ cup(s) freshly grated Parmesan
Finely chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions 9 steps | 30 Minutes

Step 1
First, prepare your breading station. In one shallow bowl, add the all-purpose flour and season it with salt and pepper. This will be the starting point for the breadcrumb coating you’ll create for the fried ravioli.

Step 2
In a second shallow bowl, whisk together the two eggs until well they are combined. This is important for creating the sticky “glue” necessary to properly coat your fried ravioli with breadcrumbs.

Step 3
In a third shallow bowl, add the Italian-style breadcrumbs. Season the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor of your friend ravioli.

Step 4
Next, start breading your ravioli by coating the ravioli with flour, shaking off any excess.

Step 5
Then transfer the ravioli to the egg bowl and coat the ravioli with the eggs and let the excess drip off.

Step 6
Transfer your ravioli to the Italian-style breadcrumb mixture and coat the ravioli thoroughly. Repeat this step with any remaining ravioli you have.

Step 7
Now it’s time fo fry your ravioli until golden brown. To do this, first fill a cast-iron skillet or a deep saute pan with 3-4 inches of oil. Then heat the oil to 350°F and line a sheet pan with paper towels and set a wire rack on top.

Step 8
Drain the fried ravioli on the wire rack that you just prepared. Then top your fried ravioli off with freshly grated Parmesan cheese while the ravioli is still hot.

Step 9
Finally, garnish with fresh parsley and serve with a side of marinara sauce and enjoy! For the marinara sauce, we recommend trying either of the homemade sauc recipes below:
