3:17 bullshit tip. There many locations near the water, where you won't meet any tourists. Just look for smaller towns and less cars with foreign plates around them.
Also, avoid the "tourist season" in Italy, like the pest.

He's right I live in San Diego. I've only been to one good restaurant that overlooks the water. Everything else I've tried the food is ok and the drinks work and the view is nice.

The key is to eavesdrop on the diners and see whether they're speaking Italian (saying "ciao" and "scusi" to each other).
If there are foreigners in any restaurant in Italy, don’t eat there, especially tourist destinations & attractions. Go off, go local & go cheap, best food you’ll ever get.
