The Brooklyn Brothers share their Italian Zeppole recipe, just like the ones you eat at an Italian Feast. We will show you how to make Zeppole, which is so easy to prepare. You will absolutely love these sweet and pillowy fried zeppole!

Back in 2021, Chef Dom and I visited Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Italian Feast located in the very heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Here, you will find yourself totally intoxicated by the aromas of various Italian foods permeating throughout the air of the streets. Many people line up in droves for these feast favorites, from Sausage and pepper heroes to fried Zeppole, which are in fact our two top choices. In my opinion, zeppole is the most popular here at the feast. Most people are unaware of these fried phenomena of total bliss smothered in powdered sugar and served in a modest brown paper bag. In the past, we were very disappointed of only getting to enjoy Zeppole once a year, until now, where we figured out the perfect recipe.

Happy Cooking!

  1. I love zeppoles. I didn't know they were that easy to make. Used to get great ones at a local pizza place in Coral Springs, FL. Great recipe. Happy 4th to you and mom!!!

  2. Our Italian feasts is the one thing I’ll always miss about growing up in NY. Nothing like it. We also make the Zeppolis with cauliflower and Anchovies.

  3. Thanks for the memories! My mom used to send me down to the church basement after Mass to buy a bag, the Rosary Society would sell them once a month for fundraising. 👍

  4. Great job guys, they look delish! I remember the savory type also it had some type of small fish inside.

  5. I made these today. Kids loved them. It was so much fun to watch the kids eat them… of coarse, they kept asking for more powdered sugar. Lol. Thanks a bunch guys! Tell momma hello!

  8. I grew up in Queens but my Father's family came from Williamsburg. We went to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast every year when I was young. I have video that my Uncle Junior took of the feast in 1961! Great memories! This is the way I remember eating zeppoles with lots of confectionery sugar! You guys remind me of my family! Keep these traditions alive and thank you so much!

  11. I find your recipes so easy to follow. It's a pleasure to watch your channel. I make my zeppoles with no sugar in the dough and I sprinkle them with a little bit of salt at the end instead of powdered sugar. I make them in the shape of a doughnut. That's how my Nona made them (I'm 78 years old) and I still make them every Christmas Eve for the 'Night of the Seven Fishes'. Growing up my Nona lived with us and when she made them she would hand me one that was still hot and she would say 'Soffio' to me (which means 'Blow' in Italian) because they were still hot. I was a very young boy and I interpreted it to 'SCHOOSH' and to this day we still call the zeppoles 'SCHOOSH'. I love your mom. She raised two good boys. Thanks again for such a HAPPY channel.

  12. I've been looking for this recipe since we left NYC in 1980🥹🙏 we lived on 1st Ave Manhattan. Feasts were literally set up in front of where we lived. Ty for giving me back my memories of a time I loved. GB your fam😊

  13. I love that you included "The Lift" in this! Back in Queens, my elementary school did a fantastic feast/carnival every spring. We would go for the zeppoles after dinner. They were in a brown paper bag, caked on confections sugar, soaking the bag through with oil…. And they were marvelous!! I'll need to try your recipe out! Now, I'll need sausage and peppers today!
