  1. As an emergency room nurse, I cringed in horror when you sliced that bun in your hand!! Looks delicious though…..

  2. I just bought some sub rolls from the bakery clearance. I would have never thought to chop everything up, what a great idea.

  3. This looks good. I'd use pepper jack and bleu cheese crumbles on mine, leave it out the mayo and toss everything with oil and vinegar instead.

  4. So what are your thoughts about toasting this sub? We like our subs from subway toasted.

  5. I guess you should have said that you can add or subtract any ingredients that you want. Everyone always seem to have better ideas than you.

  6. They look so delicious can't wait to make them for my hubby he really like a sub . Thank you for sharing this recipe.

  7. I'm not sure, Catherine, but I think there must be a law against this chopped Italian sub! I'm salivating. The only thing I have in my kitchen is mayonnaise, and then it's Miracle Whip, and white onion.

  8. That looks amazing😳. Now have this down for a salad on those hot 🥵 days in the summer her in North Myrtle Beach SC. Hubby and I both love an Italian hogie. Thanks Catherine

  9. This looks deelish! I love the hoagie rolls, but since I am doing low carb diet, I will omit the bread and eat the mixture as a salad with low carb dressing! YUM! Thanks for this recipe! Blessings and greetings from central Florida!

  11. Looks amazing…I would cut back on the lettuce and add pepper jack cheese….I love the idea of small pieces of meat….

  12. Excellent idea for lots of subs all week, only add dressing separate. So it won't get soggy. I'd use an Italian shred cheese blend. Might change dressing depending on mood that day. Thanks!

  13. This is an excellent low carb, high protein salad. Just leave out the bread!! I like this recipe a lot. You can also lose some calories by omitting the mayo. I could eat this salad all day long!! 👍👍

  14. Looks delicious 😋 But you were making me nervous the way that you were cutting the bread😮never cut towards yourself!!

  15. Looks delicious 😋 going to make them for my grandsons this weekend. I'll toast the buns. Thanks for the recipe.

  16. You are my favorite cooking show to watch from and your recipes are easy to follow. Thanks again for another great recipe

  17. I don't blame your hubby or you either Catherine for test tasting those delicious ingredients! They are very yummy! My kids & I made this Italian chopped sandwich a couple weeks ago for the first time and OMG it was so good! We put provolone cheese on ours, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, ham, turkey, bacon pieces (we fried our own), mayo, Olive Garden Italian dressing, Red Wline Vinegar, olive oil, Italian seasoning, other seasonings too I can't remember them all. It was so very good! It went into the meal rotation for sure! I want to try a lot of the ingredients you had in yours also so next time we will change it up a little or add to it anyway. I just know your family enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing your version of this super duper fantastic Italian Chopped Sandwich! 🥪🍽️💜
