Vicino Pizza
They are a Neapolitan style wood fired pizzeria located in Riverstone in CDA.
Pronounced Vi-chē-ño. Vicino means near or close by in Italian, which is fitting given it’s just around the corner from its sister restaurant, Vine & Olive. Vicino Pizza opened in October 2020. To say opening a restaurant during the Pandemic was challenging, is an understatement! Between the labor shortage and supply chain issues this was not a project for the faint at heart. But with Naomi’s passion for hospitality and desire to continue to contribute to the food scene in North Idaho, plus a big dose of stubbornness, quitting was not an option. A previous Executive Chef had opened a Neapolitan style pizzeria once before in the Bay Area. He gained valuable pizza experience working with celebrity Chef Akasha Richmond, who extensively studied with some of the most talented pizza dough specialists. It’s this experience that guided the recipes and menu at Vicino Pizza which are still used today. Vicino Pizza is the only restaurant in Coeur d’Alene to offer a 100% Italian wine list. Every wine has been curated to go with pizza and offers all the wine regions in Italy. They also installed a glycol draft system with a custom beer tower made from galvanized pipe for six draft beers with Peroni Italian Lager on as a permanent handle.
