Inspired by various sources, only 2 things : leeks and some salt/cured lard.
A major pet peeve of mine is when leek greens are not used. Taking a cue from 蔥油 (aka scallion oil), crisp up the greens in ribbons once the fat is rendered. Quick-braise the rest of the leek before marrying it off with the pasta.
