That knife is sharp and blunt at the same time…wtf?
I ate tomato and cucumber, no other veg or herbs every week day for three years. Of course there was a large dollop of mayo. It was my go to meal when l returned home from college.
The salad looks lovely and I will try it, but please sharpen that knife! A tomato should need only one slicing motion, not sawing.

Why add lemon or vinegar to a tomato and cucumber salad?
It's not an Italian salad at all, it's Tabbouleh a Levantine salad made mostly of finely chopped parsley, with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and sweet pepper. Some variations add lettuce, or use semolina instead of bulgur.
