I don't think the purple flowers are Cyclamen, they look like Autumn Crocus, saffron is harvested from these. You have wild SAFFRON 😜.

Also watched another vlog of Ferogastro festival in Calabria coincidentally on the same day as yours. There"s something similar with the Mazhu, also known as Holy Queen of Heaven, Pilgrimage in Taiwan where annually usually in lunar 3rd Month or April/May the attendees which have been growing by the thousands with many foreigners also taking part in the journey. There are several temples which conduct the festival but this particular one 白沙屯has the most character where the deity determines her own itinerary and route and have been known to resolve tricky situations while sitting in the traditional sedan. Hi Nicki, your book is lovely, such beautiful pictures and I’ll be trying the recipes too. I’ve visited the Amalfi coast a few times over the years but we mostly moved around on the water, the roads are terrifying. We used Sorrento as our base and loved all our adventures. Thank you for sharing your Positano with us all.

Hi Nicki. Do you ever put sugar in your tomato sauce? Or is that a Sicilian thing that my family has passed down to us? We also put garlic, onion, sweet basil, pepper, salt and a little oregano in the sauce.
