Welcome to Visiting Argillae Winery in Umbria , Italy – wine production and beautiful landscapes, another installment of “On The Road Edition” hosted by Stevie Kim. This is a teaser of Stevie’s visit to Argillae winery in Orvieto, Umbria. Together with Giulia Di Cosimo, wine producer, Stevie will take a tour around the estate and learn about the recent history of this modern winery. Stevie will be introduced to the most important wines produced there, such as Panata, Vascellarus and Primo d’Anfora, a white wine fermented and sharpened in terracotta amphorae.
The Argillae winery owes its name to the Latin word for the clay in which the terroir is rich. There are approximately 38 hectares of vineyards, situated at an altitude between 150 and 300 metres above sea level, with an east-west exposure on sunny hillsides. Its founder is Giuseppe Bonollo, who comes from an important family of distillers. Today, the winery is managed by new generations of the Bonollo family.
