Coming from Veneto region its my pleasure to share with you the traditional Carnival sweets recipe in Italy – Frittelle Veneziane, small soft balls, deep-fried and sprinkled with ice sugar.
All you need for below recipe are:
500 gr 00 flour
12 gr dry yeast
150 ml milk (room t°)
80 gr butter
2 eggs (room t°)
80 gr sugar
120 gr golden raisins
100 gr pine nuts
50 gr grappa (or any other spirit)
1 pz vanilla beans
1 lemon (for zest)
1 pinch of salt
ice sugar for sprinkling
corn oil for frying
