Hi Neighbours, thank you for stopping by I really do appreciate you all. today I made a recipe partly from one of the cookbooks I had. I Changed slightly but really kept the sauce the same and everything came out really really good . It is a recipe you can make your own by adding more or less of anything and the results are great. Below is the recipe if you like to give it a try.
Oh and for dining next Sunday I will set up camera different so wont shake. sorry.
Ingredients
4-6 medium potatoes, cut into
quarters
2 cups fresh or frozen whole baby
carrots ( I used fresh chopped on an angle carrots 3 large ones)
1 stalk celery, cut into 1-inch
pieces
1 small onion sliced ( I added this)
2 cups of chopped turnip ( I added this we love it and I cut them about the same size as carrots but a wee bit larger)
1 medium Italian plum tomato,
diced ( use whatever tomato you have really I think)
2 1/2 -3 1/2 pounds beef bottom round
roasts or beef chuck pot roast
1/2 teaspoon ground black
pepper
1 (10.75 ounce) can Campbell’s®
Condensed Tomato Soup ( 10 oz or 295 mls)
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon chopped roasted
garlic* or chopped fresh garlic
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves,
crushed
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves,
crushed
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes,
crushed
1 teaspoon vinegar ( I used almost 2)
you can add tsp of garlic powder and onion powder if you like too
After washing pealing and cutting veggies
Place potatoes, carrots, celery and tomato in 3 1/2-quart slow
cooker. Season roast with pepper and place on top. ( I always season and flour the roast and then in a hot pan with some oil I brown all sides to build some flavour and colour. It really does make a difference )
Mix soup, water, pepper, garlic, basil, oregano, parsley and vinegar.
Pour over all.
Cover and cook on LOW 10 to 12 hour or until done.**
I actually think 8-10 hours on low because after 9 on mine it was coming apart really tender and juicy
so 8-10 on low
4-5 on high or until everything is nice and tender
Hope you try and enjoy God bless and thank you
